Just last August of this year Steve Ballmer announced to retire in the next 12 months as Microsoft's CEO. Now the board directors of Microsoft is in search to have Ballmer's successor. Recently as Microsoft planned to buy Nokia, Stephen Elop former Nokia CEO who will join Microsoft is one in the top list. Committee has an initial list of more or less 40 people from both internal and external to be a possible successor of Ballmer.

According to bloomberg report [1] Board members have already spoken with candidates such as Ford Motor Co. (F) CEO Alan Mulally, ... former Microsoft No. 3 executive Paul Maritz, who is now CEO of cloud venture Pivotal; and Microsoft business development and evangelism chief Tony Bates.

For the past 38 years since the Microsoft company was founded by Bill Gates ( former CEO), it had two CEOs in the history of the company. Ballmer had enjoyed 33 years in service to  Microsoft.

As the competition rises, the company now is in need of someone to bring back the company's prime and made to the top once again competing Apple and Google, they need become more update and adapt the new era in terms of making smartphones. With their plan to acquire Nokia, hope this will bring more sales on their devices and services in the coming year as new CEO will set his thrown. We all know that Microsoft is working hard to get the market back and people's impression on their products and services and to attain their sales revenue to the top against their rival companies.
